Farah Jama who lives in Burngreave with his mother came to Sheffield 10 months ago from Somalia.
Jama had never been to school in Somalia, he was placed in year 9 at school here.
Jama found it very difficult, if not impossible to follow the studies of the school.
He became frustrated and aggressive and due to his behaviour he was suspended from school for 3 months
His mother came into contact with S-Tec who referred him to the IT School and Subject Support School.
After the 3 months of suspension lapsed he went back to school.
Immediately the school teachers noticed Jama's progress.
After 4 months Jama sat his school examinations and became one of the top pupils in his class.
